Here, Hans brings the data to life, and tells a fascinating story in under five minutes. I think it’s a combination of two things:

  1. The technology platform and how the data is presented.
  2. The warmth and enthusiasm Hans brings to the job of getting the data to tell stories.

As Hans so brilliantly demonstrates, extracting the stories from the data is the key component of getting your message across. For marketers, business leaders, or owner-managers, this is increasingly important. The amount of data we can access increases every day. There are lots of data points we can measure. So, which ones will we measure, and how will we show that data in a way that allows us to gain insight and make decisions?*

A key skill will be to know how to craft the right stories from our data for our specific audience each time. As Hans says, “having the data is not enough. I have to show it in ways people both enjoy and understand.

A wonderful example, by a brilliant storyteller, and well worth watching.
